JAMMU, May 19: Inter Zonal District Level competitions of District Jammu in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling (Boys), under the age of 14 and 17 years concluded at HSS Domana and GHS Satwari Cantt, here today.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu and under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
At Satwari Cantt, in Wrestling Under-14 boys,-32 Kg category, Arun Singh of GHS Sohanjana Zone Satwari-1st and Rahtak Bassam of MRLD Burj Mandir Zone Marh-2nd.
In -35 Kg, Mohd Aslam of HS Agore Zone Bhalwal-1st and Sunil Kumar of MS Gardi Garh Zone Satwari-2nd
In -38 Kg, Sahil Kumar of MS Kotli Tanda Zone Akhnoor- 1st and Bajrangi of MS Gardi Garh Zone Satwari-2nd.
In -41 Kg, Ansar Khan of GGHS Agore Zone Bhalwal-1st and Amit Kumar of GHS Sohanjana Zone Satwari-2nd
In Under-17 boys -42 Kg, Karandev of HS Arnia Zone Arnia-1st and Manjeet Kumar of HSS Kah Potha-2nd.
In -46 Kg, Sethi Singh of GHSS Chowki Choura-1st and Amit Kumar of GHS Sohanjana Zone Satwari-2nd.
In -50 Kg, Vipin Kaith of MPHSS Patali Chak Zone Marh-1stand Arundeep Singh of HSS Muthi Zone Jammu-2nd.
In Volleyball Under-14 boys final, Chowki Choura Zone beat Jammu Zone in three straight sets (3-0) by (25-15; 25-14; 15-18), while in Volleyball Under-17 boys final, Jourian Zone defeated RS Pura in three straight t sets by (25-14; 25-10;25-14).
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Doda organised Inter-Zonal Tournament in the age group of Under-14 and Under-17 at GHSS Bhaderwah under the patronage of Director Youth Services & Sports, Faiz Ahmed Sheikh and chairmanship of Joint Director Jammu, Madan Lal and under the overall supervision of DYSSO Doda, AK Kotwal.
436 students participated in the Tournament.
In Volleyball Under-17, Zone Thathre won against zone Bhaderwah by 2-0 sets, while in Kho-Kho Under-17, Ghat zone defeated Gundna by 7 points and in Kabaddi Under-17, zone Bhalla smashed zone Ghat by 13 points.
The Inter-Zonal Tournam-ents were held in the districts and Kathua and Poonch also.
