Free super speciality medical camp held

BHADERWAH, May 21: To provide specialized health care check up to the common masses of rural areas, Health and Family Welfare Department in association with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Katra organised a free super speciality medical camp in Sub District Hospital (SDH), here today.
Specialist doctors of different ailments examined 340 patients in day long camp free of cost.
The medicines were given to the patients and breathometer tests were also conducted free of cost during the camp.
The team of specialist doctors from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Katra who examined the patients included Dr Neeraj Mahajan, Cardiologist, Dr Hitesh Gupta, Nephrologist, Dr Ankush Sharma, Nephrologist, Dr Sandeep Kaul, Oncologist, Dr Ashwani Sharma, internal medicine, Dr Raksha Sharma, Gynecologist, Dr Preeti Gupta, Pediatrician, Dr Ram K Jha  and Dr Arjun (Dental and Maxiliofacial Surgeon). The team of doctors was led by Dr Arun Sharma, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bhaderwah Dr Yudhvir Singh Kotwal said that the camp was organised on the demand of the public of the area. He said 10 females were also screened free of cost for breast cancer using latest mammography technology.
Dr Kotwal said that free on the spot sugar tests were done. He requested all these doctors to visit Doda on monthly basis so that poor public can avail their services to which some of the doctors gave their consent.
While interacting with media persons, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda Dr Wajid Ali Najjar hoped that this practice will continue in future.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Bhaderwah Dr Owais Ahmed Rana also visited the camp and said that these types of camps will definitely help the poor and needy patients.
