JAMMU, May 22: A book namely ‘Intikhaabi Taariikhi Kashmiir’, English translation and annotation by famous writer, analyst and author Dr RL Bhat was released in an impressive and well attended function, organized by Kashmiri Bhasha Evam Samskriti Pratishthan (Samprati), a voluntary organization devoted to Kashmiri Art, Culture and Languages at Abhinav Theatre, here today.
The function was conducted by Dr Roshan Saraf, vice president of Samprati who read a Kashmiri poem on Dr Bhat.
Tej Sagar welcomed the guests on behalf of Samprati, while Kundan Paras, general secretary later-on presented the vote of thanks.
Intikhaabi Taariikhi Kashmiiir is the history of Kashmir that Akbar read, rather it was read out to Akbar by his munshii Obdul Kaadir Badaayuunii.

Vijay Bakaya, former chief secretary and adviser to the Chief Minister, in his paper commended the hard research undertaken by Dr Bhat to translate an almost unavailable Persian work and bring the same to the public.
Professor M H Zafar, Chairman of Comparative Religious Studies at the Central University, Jammu, who read his Hindi poem dedicated to Dr Bhat for the effort, made a critical presentation on the book. He stressed the need for a thorough evaluation of the records to put the historiography on a solid footing.
Dr Agnishekhar, lauded the effort of Dr Bhat to bring sharp light on the history of medieval Kashmir. He spoke of the historical legacy of Kashmir which has given enabled the exiled community to survive during these years of homelessness.
In his presidential remarks, Professor PN Trisal had high praise for the work, which brings the total Persian and Sanskrit historical treasure to the reader.
In author’s remarks, Dr Bhat dwelt at length on the errors in the Persian translation. He showed that the pure facts have been so mislaid and the result has been a thorough disfiguring of the narrative.
