JAMMU, May 26: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today lashed out at NDA Government as it has planned celebrations to mark the third year of its Government at the Centre, while the fact is that last three years of Modi Govt are seen as the period of broken promises, non- performance and betrayal of the public mandate.
Addressing a public gathering at Rajiv Nagar in Gandhi Nagar today, Bhalla said that last three years of Modi led NDA Govt has been proved as big failure and non-performing. He said the Congress would fully expose this Govt which has betrayed the public mandate.
Bhalla said while the youth are struggling to find jobs, farmers are committing suicide , the soldiers are dying on the borders. Exposing the Government’s propaganda of lofty achievements, Congress leader said that ruling BJP leaders did not keep their promises, they made to the people of India. Its famous slogan `Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ proved a hollow one. The unprecedented, but highly controversial demonetization move was projected in the media as the government’s “masterstroke”. But it was actually, the Government’s act of expropriation that led to widespread public chaos and hardship and brought back no black money.
Calling demonetization a “disaster” as it severely affected small and medium industries, he said that credit was now not going to big industries, resulting in fall in economic activities, Bhalla added.
Former Minister further said that the Govt has also failed to keep its promise of reducing unemployment. There has been a rise in unemployment and the big ticket schemes and slogans of the Government failed to deliver in providing jobs and reducing unemployment. He lambasted the Modi Government for its “dismal” performance on economic front in the last three years and said that the “dreams of the dream merchant PM have turned into a nightmare for the people”. The three years of PM Modi’s rule have resulted in economic recession, owing to drop in agriculture growth, low investment and very less employment generation, the lowest in the last 10 years.
“No progress has been made on the smart cities front. They (NDA) claimed that 100 smart cities will be developed, but no work has been done. All schemes have been renamed and repacked; from Nirmal Bharat to Swachh Bharat, Planning Commission to Niti Aayog, National mission of financial inclusion to Jan Dhan. They (Modi Govt) cannot conceive any new scheme, they are masters of repackaging,” Bhalla maintained.
