JAMMU, May 30: Demanding immediate withdrawal of FIR against Army Major Leetul Gogoi, Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF) today took out a strong protest march against the State Govt here today.
The protesting activists of the JPPF were carrying banners and shouting slogans against the State PDP-BJP Government. They also demanded stringent action against the anti-nationals and also to curb the nefarious designs of vilification campaign against Army including security forces in Kashmir unleashed by pro-separatists and Pak ISI agents including some politicians with vested interests.

While addressing protest demonstrators, president of the Forum, Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj warned the Government in the State and also at the Centre, to desist from the delaying tactics and immediately withdraw the FIR registered against Army Major otherwise, public will have no other option but to resort to roads and streets. He said Major Gogoi has committed no war offence and registration of an FIR against an Army officer just for tying a trouble shooter anti-national on jeep during the execution of a noble cause of protecting lives of innocent people including polling staff members in Budgam (Kashmir), in no way amounts of human rights violation.
“A well thought hate campaign, hate Army, hate India, anti-national propaganda is being sponsored by Pak ISI and pro-separatists do discourage and malign the image of Army and security forces with the abetment of social media which is really dangerous and need be immediately curbed with heavy hands by giving free hand to security forces and Army in Kashmir,” Bhardwaj maintained.
Lauding the role of security forces in fighting the militancy and anti-national elements in Kashmir valley since 1989, JPPF chief referred to the exemplary sacrifices in loss of precious lives of jawans in their prime youth while fighting for the protection of civilian population. He also lauded the statement of General Rawat in which he said that he can not let his jawans to die like this while fighting stone pelters. He said General Rawat’s step was most commendable by honouring Maj Gogoi. The whole nation stands behind this national hero, Bhardwaj said.
