NEW DELHI, May 31: As a part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s “Sahyog” programme, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today met a number of deputations and attended to public grievances at the party headquarters at 11, Ashoka Road, here today.
Dr Jitendra Singh spent over two hours, individually disposing off representations by party workers and leaders from different States and responding to queries on wide range of issues brought up by civil society members from within and outside the organisation. He also gave reference letters for different Ministries and Departments depending upon the nature of grievance.
Later, speaking to media persons at the party office, Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP is a cadre-based organisation and programmes like “Sahyog” offer an opportunity for closer interaction between office bearers of the government and grassroot workers of the party. This not only helps in taking cognizance of a number of such public issues which might have otherwise got overlooked but it also provides easy accessibility for the workers to reach out to their leaders, he added.
On a personal note, Dr Jitendra Singh said, he always enjoys sitting for such public redressal meetings in the party office, because it gives him an immense inner satisfaction as well as a feeling of homeliness. He disclosed that he tries to conduct at least one “Sahyog” programme every month at the Party office.
