LEH, May 31: Member Parliament Ladakh Lok Sabha constituency, Thupstan Tsewang visited Kharu Sub-Division, Sakti and Martselang segments of Leh and reviewed various development works.
He was accompanied by EC Agriculture Tsering Wangdus, Councilor Sakti, Igoo, Martselang, SE PWD Tashi Chombel, ACD Leh Tsering Paldan, SDM Kharu T. Mutup, AEE, Tehsilder Kharu and other officials.
Earlier, the MP visited the Stakna bridge construction site and enquired about the delay in the work. He gave strict direction to EC Works, Dorjey Mutup and SE PWD to get the work start in next three days and complete the bridge within shortest possible time.
At Sakti, the MP inaugurated the village community hall built at a cost of Rs 34 lakh by Rural Development Department.
Addressing the gathering MP said that it’s an auspicious omen to start the hall with the celebrations of birth centenary of great personality of Ladakh, Kushok Bakula Rinpoche. He said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi around 25 Centrally sponsored schemes have been launched so far out of which many have been implemented in Leh also.
Thupstan also appreciated the effort of teaching staff of Govt Middle School Sakti and villagers for the increase in enrolment of students from 5 in November 2016 to 60 on today’s date after the schools was being adopted as Council Model school. He assured funds for the school out of MPLAD.
Councilor Sakti demanded early execution of water diversion work to be done at Chang La and Wari La for irrigation purposes under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchaye Yojna. EC Agriculture gave detail information about PMKSY and informed that Rs 4.5 crores each has been projected in the DPR for Chang La and Wari La water diversion project.
At Thakthog Monastery, the monks demanded parking and toilet facility and protection bund for the monastery owned lands. At Chemray Monastery, MP also assured to extend full support to fulfil all their genuine demands.
At, Kharu the MP inaugurated a Rs: 25 lacs cost community hall constructed by the Rural Development Department.
