JAMMU, June 1: After Hiranagar boy Rahul Jarngal summitted Mount Everest on the other day, another Jammu boy Sandeep Singh, Leading Physical Training Instructor in Indian Navy scaled the peak along with the nine members from Indian Navy on May 27.
Son of retired Meter Inspector from Power Development Department (PDD), Balbir Singh Jamwal and Sushil Devi, developed motor ability and mountaineering skills only after joining Indian Navy in 2008.
Mr Sandeep was part of 5-member Team-B OF Indian Navy comprising of Lieutenant Commander Hari Prasath, Petty Officer Hari Om, Leading Air Handler, Ashish Gupta, Medical Assistant-I Avinash Bhawane and Sandeep Singh, who successfully scaled Mount Everest at 7.30 am.
Resident of Talab Tillo, behind Jaswant Plaza, Camp Road Jammu, Mr Sandeep did his 10th from DBN School Talab Tillo and 12th from SRML Higher Secondary School Jammu, before joining Indian Army.
The 29 year old son of the soil has a wife in Divya Jamwal, who supports him in all his endeavours and is the secret behind his success.
While talking to EXCELSIOR from Kathmandu in Nepal, Mr Sandeep attributed his success to his parents, coach, Indian Navy and Indian Mountaineering Federation (IMF).
Sharing his experience, Mr Sandeep said that he felt like on top of the world when he scaled the peak.
