MENDHAR, June 1: Cond-emning unprovoked ceasefire violation and mortar shelling by Pakistani in area of Mendhar  and Mankote, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana today snubbed Central Government for hollow sloganeering on construction of bunkers in the border areas saying GoI has left villagers near LoC on the mercy of  God.
Today morning soon after receiving information of Pak shelling in Mankote  and Balnoi area, the MLA asked all the officers to remain alert and also reached himself Mendhar hospital where some of the injured were shifted.
Rana asked the hospital authorities to provide best possible treatment to all the injured and also assured financial assistance in case there is some shortage of any required material to deal with such situation.
The MLA said, “Last year, I announced 20% funds from my CDF for construction of bunkers in border areas but reluctance on the part of Government can be gauged from the fact that DPR is yet to be submitted to the Union Govt.”
“Three years of Narendra Modi led Government have gone and the Government is still making claims of bunker construction and files of the same are moving here and there,” he added.
Rana urged upon the Prime Minster to intervene in into the matter  and ensure the safety of citizens living in border areas and to start construction of bunkers on war footing.
He also appealed the Prime Minister to also resume talk process with Pakistani Government as unprovoked shelling from across the LoC is taking toll on the lives of population on this side of border. He asked State Government for providing better road connectivity to border areas as it becomes difficult to shift people to safer places during the time of shelling.
Rana also demanded opening of Trauma Centres in different places near LoC, so that injured are immediately shifted for treatment. He said that NC Government had already sanctioned two Trauma Centres for border areas of Mendhar but the present Government has halted the whole process, making people to travel 20 Kms long distance for treatment.
