Randhawa reviews functioning of Floriculture Deptt

JAMMU, June 3: A meeting of the Floriculture Department was convened today by Ch Vikram Randhawa, Member Legislative Council (MLC), to review its functioning.
Ch Vikram today chaired a meeting with the Director Floriculture, Babila Rakwal, which was attended by other officials of the department also.
Director Floriculture apprised the MLC regarding the ongoing developmental projects of the department. She apprised the MLC about the beautification project undertaken for Bagh-e-Bahu. She said that the department is considering facelift of the Bagh-e-Bahu which is the lone tourist attraction garden in the city of temples.
Randhawa while speaking laid stress on the beautification of all the gardens of the city. He said that as scores of tourists visit the city hence gardens needs to be beautified and maintained properly to make them the centre of attraction.
He also stressed upon the Director Floriculture to take up the project of the Bhour Camp garden which was started by the previous Government but remained incomplete due to unknown reasons. He said that if maintained properly it can attract thousands of tourists as it was on the pattern of Kashmir’s Tulip Garden.
Randhawa assured the Director of full support by the Government in beautifying the city of temples. MLC was accompanied by Sharda Devi and Vivek Patyal.
Other officials of the department present on the occasion included Project Director Bagh-e-Bahu Mishri, Executive Engineer Arvind Gupta and Assistant Executive Engineer Rohit.
