Srinagar, June 3: The Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat today visited Line of Control (LoC) to take stock of the situation and operational preparedness of the troops deployed there.
Soon after the 3-day meeting of the top Commanders of Army was over in Srinagar, General Rawat visited LoC Army formations and various units in North Kashmir.
The Army chief was briefed on all aspects of operational and logistical preparedness of the Army. He was briefed about the attempts of the infiltrations made by the militants from across the LoC and Army’s preparedness to deal with it. The chief was told that alert troops achieved major success against infiltrators and killed 19 of them recently.
The Army chief was appreciative of the measures put in place to meet any challenge posed by elements inimical to national security and complimented the troops for the recent successful counter infiltration operations that had delivered a major blow to the adversary.
Exhorting all soldiers deployed in the Valley to continue utmost vigil and operational focus, the Army chief reassured them of the entire nation’s pride and support for their endeavours.
General Rawat said that it was a privilege for every soldier to be entrusted with the safety, security and integrity of his country and that we must always be prepared to live up to that trust and confidence.
