‘Animaniacs’ may get reboot from Amblin, WB

LOS ANGELES, June 5: A reboot of the hit ’90s cartoon “Animaniacs” is reportedly in the early stages of development at Amblin Television and Warner Bros.
Director Steven Spielberg, who developed the original as a follow-up to the success of his “Tiny Toon Adventures”, is expected to be on board in crafting the updated version, reported Indiewire.
The animated comedy TV series centered on three 1930s cartoon siblings — Yakko (voiced by Rob Paulsen), Wakko (Jess Harnell) and Dot (Tress MacNeille) that were locked away in the Warner Bros. Water tower until the 1990s, when they escaped.
It ran for 99 episodes – from 1993 to 1995 on Fox Kids, before moving to Kids’ WB from 1995 to 1998. (PTI)
