REASI, June 7: Press Information Bureau, Government of India in collaboration with District Information Center Reasi organized a media workshop “Vartalap” aiming to act as a direct interface between PIB’s Regional and Branch offices and the journalists working at district and sub-district levels.
The workshop was part of PIB’s media outreach strategy with the aim of establishing direct contact with working journalists.
DDC Reasi Ravinder Kumar, who was the chief guest on the occasion had interactive session with journalist fraternity from Katra, Reasi and Pouni and sought valuable feedback from them on various matters.
He urged upon media persons to work with utmost sincerity and dedication without any biased approach. He stressed on writing success and development stories of various departments working in the district.
The proceedings of the workshop were conducted by Sunil Koul, Media and Communication Officer, Incharge Press Information Bureau (PIB) Jammu who stressed upon the need to give preference to proactive development journalism in the region.
A lecture on GST was delivered by Asstt Prof Mohammad Ashraf who explained the salient features and overall status of this new tax for public welfare.
Later, a yoga session was also held in which expert of the field elucidated media fraternity on the role of yoga and meditation for managing stressful conditions in the present era.
Special sessions about various nuances of development journalism and role of a local journalist vis-à-vis development in rural areas were also held in the workshop, which was addressed by a number of senior and experienced working journalists besides other trainers.
Among other SSP Tahir Bhat, District Information Officer Rajinder Singh and Vijay Kumar Magotra, Retd Media Officer were the experts who spoke during the workshop.
