Chhatral drubs BHSS Mendhar in RR T20

Mendhar, Oct 24: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organised a T-20 Cricket tournament at Mendhar. The aim of the tournament was to provide the budding cricketers a platform to display their cricketing skills as also to foster the spirit of brotherhood, goodwill and healthy competition amongst the youth.
The tournament was played on knockout basis amongst the four local teams from Ari, Chhatral, Degree College and Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Mendhar. The final match was conducted today between Chhatral and Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Mendhar. The final was a nail bitter and both teams put up their best foot forward and finally the match was won by Chhatral by 31 Runs. The final match was witnessed by delirious fans of both the teams and eminent personalities.
Sardar Iqbal Singh, Tehsildar, Mendhar was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes to the winner and runner up team members.  While speaking on the occasion he said that the Army is working positively to give space and direction to the youth for achieving excellence in sports field.  The local populace appreciated the initiative undertaken by the Army to promote T-20 cricket amongst the local populace and further embolden respect and trust between the Jawan and the Awam.
