NMC urges FM to issue notification for 7th PC implementation

JAMMU, June 25: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri, today urged upon the State Finance Minister (FM), Dr Haseeb Drabu, to immediately issue the notification regarding implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in favour of its employees and pensioners.

Addressing a well attended NMC worker’s meet here, Shastri hoped that the Government after taking into account the rising prices and medical expenses will enhance medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month to employees and pensioners.
Referring to the regularization of 61, 000 daily rated workers working in the various Government departments, Shastri said Government needs to speed up the process of regularization of these workers who form the backbone of public utility system. He further said that till steps about regularization of this workforce are undertaken, the respective departments should be provided separate wage heads to arrange payment @ Rs 350 per day in their favour.
Shastri also appealed the Union Finance Minister to accept the recommendations of the Finance Secretary to accept recommendations of the committee headed by Finance Secretary Ashok Lavasa constituted for removing pay anomalies in respect of lower grade pay of staff in different categories besides non-finalization of HRA and other related allowances by the Central Government in July 2016.
Total exemption of DA from income tax, enhance income tax exemption limit to Rs five lakh, release all pending dues of casual laborers working in the various departments of the State Government and removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre of the State Government under SRO 93 were other demands highlighted on the occasion.
Several senior NMC members including Rajan Babu, BS Jamwal, Sunil Kumar, Barkat Ram, Jaipaul Sharma, Pardeep Kumar, Sukhdev Singh and Surinder Kumar were also present on the occasion.
