NAGROTA, June 26: Spea-ker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta in the presence of Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu West and BJP State president Sat Sharma, today inaugurated a Bhandara, being organized by Bharat Sevashram Sangha at Panjgrain, Nagrota on Monday.
Bhandara has been organized by the devotees of the Sangha under the banner of Baba Amarnath Charitable Trust and it will continue till the end of the Yatra. The pilgrims will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Langar during the Yatra period.
While speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta appreciated the social work done by the organization by reaching to the affected community members at the time of the natural calamities in the State. He said that BSS is engaged in hosting social welfare activities all over the country. It is contributing towards development of the people at large, and in particular the financially-weak and neglected sections. BSS is contributing in the spheres of health, education and self-employment, he added.
MLA Nagrota Devender Rana, who also attended the function, said that people of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian have been living in J&K and expressed his hope that the great ideals of sacrifice, service and universal unification of the Sangha-Founder, Acharya Srimat Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj will surely inspire the people of the State to live in peace and harmony. He promised to help the Sangha, which is rendering its services to the nation.
Earlier on their arrival, the Speaker and Sat Sharma performed Puja in traditional style of BSS, followed by unfurling of the Sansthan flag in the presence of Swami Biswathanandaji Maharaj, Swami Saryamitrana-nda Ji, prominent members of Sangha and civil society.
Trustee of the Sangha threw light on the life of the founder of BSS Yogacharya Srimat Swami Pranvananda Ji Maharaj and the activities of Sangha in J&K State. He mentioned about the distribution of relief material and establishment of Langars for the uprooted people in the State especially in Jammu division during the last year’s natural calamity in the State.
In the programme, torches were distributed to the Amarnath pilgrims. Later, Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma and Devender Rana served Prasad of the Bhandara to all the participants.
