IGP Kashmir reviews security arrangements for Amarnath Yatra from Baltal

Srinagar : A high level meeting today reviewed security arrangements for annual amaranth yatra, commencing from June 29 from Baltal and Pahalgam tracks.

A police spokesman said here tonight that Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Munir Ahmad Khan held a  security review meeting with all the stakeholders, security agencies, poniwalas, tent walas and langar walas at Baltal, base camp for the yatra in central Kashmir.

IGP emphasised on co-ordination between all service providers and security agencies.

He Kashmir discussed in detail all security related and other allied issues and a detailed discussion was made on the issue of security to Yatra convoys and Road Opening Party (ROP) enroute all the way to Baltal. The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal and other senior Officers.

IGP Kashmir also visited Manigam transit camp and Dumail,he said.  later he visited Shadipora Sumbal where SSP Bandipora briefed about the security arrangements upto Sumbal. (Agencies)
