NEW DELHI: The Government has suspended the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through Nathu La in Sikkim but the yatra from Lipulek Taklakot of Uttarakhand is going on.
According to highly-placed sources, since China has stopped the first batch of Indian pilgrims from crossing over to their side from Nathu La Pass following the face off on the border, it has been decided to suspend the yatra until the issue is resolved.
“It was not desirable to keep the pilgrims waiting indefinitely so it has been decided to suspend the yatra for the time being,” sources said. According to sources no batch of pilgrim was being sent through Nathu La but yatra was going on through the Lipulek Pass. (AGENCIES)
