BILLAWAR, July 2: To promote rich Dogra culture, rural games and to provide platform to the young wrestlers to show their specific talent and spread a message of unity and sportsmanship, the Dadwara Youth Dangal Committee of Village Dadwara (Bhadu), Billawar, Kathua organized the wrestling competitions, here today.
Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Senior Congress Leader/General Secretary PCC and Former Minister was the Chief Gues on the occasiont. A number of Dangal’s ware organized by the different village committees with the active support and contribution of local villagers/young youths in their respective villages which started from the onset of Dharmi month (dharmthada) from Ramkote and concluded at Didwara, Bhadu, Billawar. About 40-50 dangal competitions were held in the Competition..
Dr. Sharma presented a prize of Rs.51, 000 to the winner namely Sukh of Amritsar Punjab and runners-up wrestler Pama of Punjab and 2nd Malli/prize of Rs.31,000 to winner wrestler, Samsher of Delhi & runners-up wrestler Sukh of Rajasthan and Rs.21,000 to Fiza of J&K who stood at 3rd place..
Dr. Sharma appreciated the organizers for holding this mega event.
Speaking on the occasion, he appealed the youth to desist from the use of drugs to not to derail from the mainstream.
