DODA, July 4: Bhatia Cricket Academy Jammu and Dewan Riders Cricket Club Poonch registered wins over their rivals in their respective matches and advanced into the next round of the ongoing All India 13th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2017, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
In the first match after winning the toss, Royal Star Cricket Club Udhampur made 99 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 18.2 overs with the contribution of 36 runs by Aqid Kanth and 13 runs by Khatib Rehman. From BCC Jammu, Roshan Lal, Ankush, Ravi and Harry Singh shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, BCA Jammu chased the stipulated target in 11.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Sukhdev was the highest scorer who contributed 45 runs while Ankush and Ravi scored 15 runs each. Fron RSCC Udhampur, Shoaib Naik and Khatib Rehman shared 1 wicket each. Sukhdev of BCA Jammu was declared as the man of the match for his all-round performance who was given prize by the Chief Guest, DySP Hqr Iftkhar Ahmed along with SHO Doda Raghubir Singh.
In the second match, batting first after winning the toss, Everest Bhalessa made lowest total 77 runs for the loss of all their wickets in 13.1 overs with the contribution of 20 runs by Sagar Butt and 14 runs by Asif Sheikh. From DRCC Poonch, Sikander Mehmood and Maqsood scalped 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
In reply, DRCC Poonch made chased the target in 17.3 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus won the match by 1 wicket. Mukhtar Ahmed and Rashid Iqbal scored 16 and 15 runs respectively for their team while from ACC Bhalessa, Ahsan Mughal and Mubarak Rather shared 3 wickets each. Sikander Mehmood of DRCC Poonch was declared as the man of the match for his all-round performance who was given prize by Sr Video Analyst UP Cricket Association, Sudhir Singh.
The matches were officiated by Ifroz Rather and Munish Zutshi as umpires while Milind Gore and Waseem Raja maintained the scorebook.
