CSIR to open its laboratories for KV students

NEW DELHI: The students of Kendriya Vidyalayas will now be able to access 38 laboratories of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct experiments to supplement their classroom learning.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the CSIR and the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) under “Jigyasa-Student, scientist connect programme”.

The programme is expected to connect 1,151 KVs with 38 national laboratories of the CSIR and around 1 lakh students and nearly 1000 teachers would reap the benefits annually.

“To inculcate scientific temper among the students we have to make them aware about the impact of science on the society. Science has played a very important role in changing our lives,” Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said during the event. (AGENCIES)
