JAMMU, July 8: In an impressive function, Rtn Sunil Kumar Sawhney was installed as President of the Rotary Club Jammu.
The installation of the new President of the Club was conducted by Rtn. Parvinderjeet Singh, District Governor Rotary International District 3070 comprising of the States of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
In his address, Rtn Parvinderjeet highlighted the role of Rotary International in eradication of Polio from the world.
In his Presidential address, Sunil Kumar Sawhney highlighted the achievement of the Club in eye donation Project.
He informed the house that the club has managed eye transplantation of three blind persons by which the persons were able to see the world with transplanted eyes.
He also informed the house that in collaboration with District Administration he has planned to develop Village Mathwar in Akhnoor as a Rotary Model Village in which sanitation, water, renovation of Schools, plantation etc and other important tasks will be taken.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were RI officer Rtn Dr U S Ghai, District Secretary Rtn Dr Narinder Singh, Assistant Governor Rtn Ashok Gupta, Rtn Prem Shanker, Rtn Gaurav Vaid, Rtn Harbans Singh, Rtn Dr Navneet Gupta and Rtn K K Langer.
Earlier, Rtn Prem Shanker presented welcome address, while vote of thanks was presented by Rtn Harbans Singh.
