Speaker takes stock of public grievances

JAMMU, July 10:   Speaker Legislative Assembly,   Kavinder Gupta today toured  Preet Nagar and Nanak Nagar areas to listen to the issues of people, particularly problems related to rains.
The Speaker also inspected the damaged wall of the nallahs near main Preet Nagar and instructed UEED Executive Engineer to take up repair   immediately.
He also directed Power Development Department to immediately fix the lines damaged due to breakage of electric pole to avoid any untoward incident.
The Speaker also informed the people of the area that the Government has sanctioned Rs.3.5 crore for construction of main road from Nanak Nagar Gurudarbar to Preet Nagar.
Later, the speaker also visited Rani Talab and Digiana to take stock of the situation arisen due to chocking of the nallah in these areas. He instructed Commissioner Municipality Jammu to clean the nallahs and remove the garbage to avoid inconvenience to the people.
The people demanded installation of dustbin in the area so that they may not throw garbage in to the nallahs. Responding to the demand, the Speaker instructed JMC to do the needful at the earliest.
