SRINAGAR : A man was killed when a vehicle he was driving skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge on Srinagar-Leh national highway, official sources said.
They said a car on way to Srinagar from Leh in Ladakh region fell into 400 feet deep gorge at Captain Mode on the highway late last night. Sources said though rescue operation was launched immediately but body of one Mahinder Singh, son of Dileep Singh, resident Batmaloo, Srinagar, was recovered this morning.
So far, only one body has been recovered, they said, adding that it was not immediately how many people were travelling in the car when the accident took place. (AGENCIES)
