Team Jammu warns Govt on introducing Kashmiri language in Jammu Colleges

JAMMU, July 14: Expressing serious concern over the purported Government move of introducing Kashmiri language in the Colleges across Jammu division, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman of Team Jammu, has threatened a mass movement against any attempt of playing with the sentiments of Dogras.
Chairing an emergency meeting of the Team Jammu executive members, which was held here today in wake of media reports that PDP-BJP Coalition Government is going to impose Kashmiri language in Jammu Colleges, Zorawar Singh Jamwal warned that Dogras of Jammu would oppose any such attempt tooth and nail.
He lambasted ruling BJP for its complete surrender to the PDP of Kashmir for the lust of power and said that people would teach a lesson to this party for its sabotage to interests of Jammu of different occasion. “Whether it is the issue of step motherly treatment by J&K Public Service Commission with the Jammu candidates or the issue of Dogri language, the BJP ministers never raised their voice of dissent thus making it clear that the party has completely surrendered before PDP for remaining in power,” he said
The Team Jammu chief asked the State Government to immediately withdraw its order on conversion of posts of Assistant Professors for Kashmiri language and instead issue an order for creation of posts of Dogri language in all colleges as well as Higher Secondary Schools in Jammu province.
“Dogri is not only the language which unites people of Jammu region but also those living in Himachal Pradesh and Pathankot area of Punjab, where it is the mother tongue of people,” he added and exhorted Jammu people, particularly intelligentsia to remain united against any attempt of PDP-BJP Government to play with sentiments of the Dogras.
