JAMMU, July 18: Natrang presented Balwant Thakur’s highly acclaimed children play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ on the third day of the four day Children Theatre Festival, ‘Celebrating Childhood’ at Abhinav Theatre, here.
Giving details about this unique initiative, the founder of Natrang, Balwant Thakur while welcoming the august gathering informed that such endeavours will revolutionise the intellectual life of the city and certainly shape up future generations. He desired all to support such initiatives of Natrang including the educational institutions of the State in the larger interest of the promotion of immense talent in young children.
The play ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ shakes parents, educationists and guardians of society out of reverie of materialism, consumerism and unbridled desires. This play compels elders to look around and clear the mess they have created due to their own amorous ambitions. Parents see in their children an extension of their unfulfilled dreams and force them to become stereotypes and kill bountiful charm in them. In a pursuit to make them doctors, engineers and IAS, they are subjected to every kind of cruelty. The children become mechanical and hardly get time to discover their real self. Prevalent education system adds further insult to injury and creativity gets scuttled and children grow up devoid of values. Play deals with contemporary problems that younger generation is up against from their own loved ones and surroundings.
The Children who performed brilliantly and won the hearts of theatre lovers of Jammu included  Gopi Sharma, Sanchita Dubey, Sanyam Gupta, Shreya Gupta, Agam Kaur, Mihir Gujral, Vrinda Gujral, Sanya Gupta, Asma Gul, Ayn Bhola, Chirag Anand, Saanvi Anand, Riya Jandial, Saba Jamwal, Shivangini Sharma, Divyan Sharma, Sumedha Manhas, Satyam Mehra Vedhant Suri, Sanket Bhagat, Ananya Verma and Rudra Kohli.
The music was scored by Anil Tickoo and Sanjeev Gupta rendered rhythm in the play. The lights of the play was designed by Pankaj Sharma and executed by Neeraj Kant, sound of the play was rendered by Lokesh Chander, Bhisham Gupta looked after the properties and the make-up was done by Aarushi Thakur of the play. The allied arrangements of the show were looked after by Mohd Yaseen, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Shivam Singh, Sandeep Kumar, Abhi Bargotra, Goutam Sharma, Mahikshit Singh and Jyoti Kant Sharma. The show was ably conducted by Sumeet Sharma and Gauri Thakur.
On the concluding day on 19th July, 2017 Natrang will feature ‘Subse Bada Kala Kaar- Vrinda Gujral of Sony TV fame at 5.30 pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. Dr Nirmal Singh, Deputy Chief Minister will grace the occasion as chief guest.
