Mahika, Aqsa, Areeba, Muntaha emerge winners in inter-school debate competition

SRINAGAR, July 23: An inter-school debate competition on the topic “Save the girl child” was organized by New Bonvivant High School, Hawal, here today.
In the competition, students from many institutions including from Jammu took part and expressed their views on the topic.
On the occasion, Zahoor Hashmi was the chief guest, while the judges for the competition were NA Wani, Chairman, New Bonvivant High School, Iqra Nazir, Principal of the host institution, Shabir and Aslam.
In the competition, the first prize was won by Mahika Koul of Heaven’s Kingdom High School, Janki Vihar Jammu, while the second position was clinched by Aqsa Mehraj-ud-Din of Bonvivant High School, Nawakadal Srinagar. The third position was shared by Areeba Mustaq Pampori and Muntaha Nazir Wani from New Bonvivant High School, Hawal, Srinagar. The consolation prizes were won by three schools.
Later, the chief guest presented the awards to the top three position holders and winners of consolation prizes.
While speaking, Zahoor Hashmi congratulated the winners of the competition and stated that to save the girl child is the need of the hour.
“Girls are competing well in all the fields including education. We should encourage the girl child and treat them at par with boys”, Hashmi asserted.
In the end, Secretary of the host institution Alveena presented vote of thanks.
