JAMMU, July 25: 48th KVS Regional Sports Meet in Kho-Kho Under-14 and Under-19 Boys was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and fervour at Kendriya Vidyalaya Bantalab, here today.
DR Meena (AC-KVS-JR) Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Earlier, the welcome was presented by the Principal of the Vidyalaya, V. Santhosh Kumar. The chief guest hoisted the National Flag and declared the Meet open in the presence of the Principal by releasing balloons in the air.
169 students with 17 teacher escorts drawn from 12 different Kendriya Vidyalayas from Jammu Region are participating in the event.
The students presented cultural items during the Inaugural Ceremony conducted on this occasion. Players from different KVs took oath of sportsmanship.
Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest stressed on the need for paying more attention on games and sports along with studies and day-to-day strenuous routine work. .He encouraged the players to put their heart and soul to emerge winner.
He added that the players should mould themselves to cope up with all values and prove themselves to be like alloy which has the quality of tolerance and endurance with iron like will to win.
The ceremony ended with vote of thanks by Romi Amrit, Vice Principal of the Vidyalaya.
