LDC projects demand of degree college at Latti

UDHAMPUR, Aug 3:  Latti Development Committee (LDC) has urged from the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to fulfill the promise of  Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed to establish degree college at Latti.
In a meeting of the LDC held today under the chairmanship of  Kasturi Lal Gupta, the members strongly demanded that Latti which is about 56 kms from Chenani and 85 kms from Udhampur, having four to five feeding  Higher Secondary Schools, really deserve a degree college. An average of  500 students of Class 12th pass out every year from these Higher Secondary Schools, they added.
They further reminded the Chief Minister that during 2012 in a PDP rally at Latti, Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed had promised the people of Latti that he will sanction  degree college at Latti if his Government comes to power. Now,  when the PDP-BJP Govt is in power, it is pleaded to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to fulfill the promise  of her Late father. They said even she herself had declared  on the floor of the Assembly House at Jammu that Latti should be given degree college.
The Members pointed out that students from Latti, Dudu, Kirchi, Marothi,  Jakhed,  Basantgarh, Pattangarh, Mantalai and Sudhmahadev will be benefitted with this college.  They said that Latti is centrally located  and is most suitable and ideal place for college in this remote belt of district Udhampur. Moreover, Latti is the oldest Higher Secondary Schools upgraded in 1986 in the area.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included- Raj Mohammed, Akhtar Hussain, Mohd Abbas, Abdul Rashid,  Khalid Hussain, Mohd Rafiq, Waseem Malik and others.
