JAMMU, Aug 3: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor Sunaina Mehta conducted awareness camp regarding Goods and Service Taxes (GST) at Akhnoor in order to create awareness among the traders and general public regarding GST.
The camp was organized in coordination with Department of Commercial Taxes.
BS Chib CTO, Inspector Chander, Gharu Ram Executive Officer Akhnoor and Sanjeevan Sharma, Naib Tehsildar Akhnoor participated in the awareness camp in which traders were sensitized about GST.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Akhnoor informed that continuous efforts will be put in promoting 100 per cent registration of eligible dealers, traders and industrialists in Akhnoor Sub Division.
She motivated Presidents of various trade unions along with shopkeepers to register themselves under GST.
Commercial Taxes officials briefed all the traders about all forms of taxes–CGST, IGST, SGST and also cleared their queries regarding the process of registration under GST, filing of returns, claims of IPC by traders etc. They also cleared their doubts regarding process of registration under GST.
