JAMMU, Aug 12: Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti Jammu and Kashmir inaugurated Vidya Bharti North Zone 30th Yogasan Sports Competition in the age group of Under-14, 16 and Under-19 boys and girls at BVM High School, Amphalla, here.
Around 150 players drawn from 5 States of North Zone are participating in the event.
Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony, while the function was presided over r by Surinder Attri, General Secretary Vidya Bharti North Zone. The main speaker on the occasion was Ashok Babber, General Secretary Vidya Bharti Punjab and Khelkud Prabhari of North Zone.
Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the achievements of Vidya Bharti in the sports field and said that Vidya Bharti was awarded the best State award by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in sports, discipline and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
Surinder Attri and Shiv Kumar lauded the efforts of BSS J&K for organizing such a mega event for the first time in the State and assured them their full support and cooperation.
Baldev Sharma, In-charge Sports Vidya Bharti North Zone and Rajesh Kumar were honoured by the Samiti on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were the office bearers and members of Samiti including Ram Lal Sharma, Hari Bhushan, Satish Mittal, Ranjana Bajaj, Pradip Singh and Rakesh Marhatta.
Suresh Parihar, Joint Secretary of the Samiti presented vote of thanks.
