KULGAM, Aug 17: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam today inaugurated 3 days Inter District Net Ball under 17 & 19 tournaments at Sports Stadium, here.
The programme was organized by District Youth Services and Sports Department Kulgam.
The tournament saw participation from six Net Ball teams of different districts including Bandipora, Anantnag and Kulgam on the first day.
While inaugurating the tournament ADDC, stressed upon the coaches to encourage development of sports spirit among students so that their physical and mental health is improved.
Earlier, the District Youth Services Sports Officer Kulgam welcomed the guests. He spoke in detail about the calendar of sports activities done in 2016-17.
On the occasion District Officer DYSS requested the chief guest that a fresh circular should come up from District Administration for collection of 50% games fund from schools to keep available at the disposal of Sports department besides the uplift of existing facilities including area expansion, provision of toilet facilities & proper infrastructure development at Sports Stadium Kulgam.
During the Tournament as many as 200 players of Net Ball teams of under 17, under 19 boys & girls of different districts participated in the event.
