ABVP organizes ‘Pratibha Samman Samaroh’

JAMMU, Aug 18: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu City unit today organized ‘Pratibha Samman Samaroh’ here at Teachers’ Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar.
Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi, was the chief guest on the occasion while general secretary of ABVP for northern region, Naveen Sharma and coordinator of the event, Narinder Singh Bahu were also present.
At the outset of the programme, those who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in ‘Sunil Padha Smriti Gyaan Pratiyogita’ were awarded cash prizes and mementoes by the chief guest. Thereafter, about 450 students including toppers of classes 10th and 12 as well as toppers of NCC, NSS, various sports and cultural activities were awarded by presenting mementoes and certificates.
While speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi said, “ABVP is playing a great role in re-organization of the Country and every student should join the organization to work for the welfare of the student community. She also threw light on the work done by the Government to reform the education sector”.
Naveen Sharma, in his address, highlighted various activities undertaken by the ABVP. He said that ABVP wants to engage the youth in re-organization of the country by infusing patriotism in them, as it is only youth, who can bring change. He said as Army is protecting the citizens from foreign enemies on borders in the same way ABVP is working against bad elements in the society.
Earlier, president of ABVP Jammu city unit, Govind Sharma presented welcome address while the event concluded with vote of thanks by Piyush Khajuria, joint secretary, ABVP Jammu city unit.
