Excise sleuths destroy over 950 kgs of lahan

KATHUA, Aug 18: More than 950 kgs of lahan, raw material for illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious to health were recovered by the sleuths of Excise Department Kathua during their raid today in villages of Banyari & Persochak areas of Kathua district from the State land and later destroyed on spot.
The Excise team was led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise, Arun Kumar & Shadi Lal along with Excise staff. The raid was conducted on the directives of the Excise Commissioner, Mohd Javed Khan and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah to arrest the menace of illicit liquor in the State.
