UDHAMPUR, Aug 23: Bajarang Bali Akhara Meer Pattan Dangal Committee organized a Dangal (Indian Style Wrestling) at Meer, Panchari, here.
Social activist, Swaran Singh Rathore was the chief guest, while social activist Raj Kumar Bucha was the guest of honour.
47 bouts were played between local wrestlers and the wrestlers from outside the State.
The title malli for Rs 12,000 was played between Ajay Sharma and Bobri of Jammu, wherein Ajay Sharma emerged victorious.
The 2nd malli for Rs 10,000 also was played between Ajay Sharma of Power House, Udhampur and Bablu of Basantgarh, Udhampur, which was won by Ajay Sharma in a tough fight, while the third malli for Rs 10,000 was played between Gopal of Jandrah District Jammu and Liaquet Ali of Panthal District Reasi and it was easily won by Gopal.
Chief guest Swaran Singh Rathore distributed prizes among the winners.
While speaking on the occasion, he said that the sports and games are the best medium to channelize the youth energy in right direction.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Bhag Singh, Hoshiyar Singh, Jeevan Sharma, Khajoor Singh, Om Parkash Sharma, Sham Lal, Arun Gupta, Bhim Singh, Balbir Singh, Prabhat Singh, Dr. Rattan Singh, Subash Chander and Angrej Singh.
