JAMMU, Aug 23: Young sportspersons in various disciplines of sports sweated-it-out and left no stone unturned to get the selectors nod in District and Zonal Level Inter-School Tournaments going on at various places across Jammu division.
The District Level Inter-School Football Tournament under all age groups concluded at Delhi Public School, Kikryal, Katra.
In closing ceremony, Dr Swarn Singh Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Reasi was chief guest and Ashwani Katoch was the guest of honour on the occasion. While addressing the Players Dr Chib congratulated the winners and highlighted the importance of games and sports.
In all, 240 footballers drawn from fifteen schools of District Reasi participated in the Tournament.
In Under-14 boys, Delhi Public School beat Amba Kids Panthal by 4-1, while in Under-17 boys DPS Katra drubbed GHSS Katra by 4-1 and in Under-19 boys, DPS Katra outclassed GHSS Katra by 5-3.
The tournament was organized by Technical Panel comprised of Ravi Kumar, Anil Singh, Vikrant Singh, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Ranjeet Kumar, Rahul Bakshi, Balbir Singh and Vikas Verma.
Inter-School District Level Competitions of Jammu District concluded today.
Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the chief guest on the closing ceremony.
In Badminton Under-19 final, MHAC Nagbani beat MIER by 2-1 sets
The matches were officiated by Sanjay Khajuria, Vikram, Harpreet and Ravinder, while in Football Under-19 boys final, BSF Paloura defeated Jodhamal Public school via tie-breaker by (4-3) goalS
The matches were officiated by Bharat bhushan, Ajay Sharma, Tarunpal, Gurbachan, and Karanjeet.
The Inter-School Zonal Level Competitions of Gandhi Nagar and Satwari Zones were held under the supervision of ZPEOs Anju Gupta and Poonam Kotwal.
On the closing ceremony, the chief guest was Raj Rani, Headmaster HS Jammu.
In Kabaddi Under-19 Boys final, HSS Gandhi Nagar beat HSS Channi Himmat by 34-13 points, while in Kho-Kho Under-19 boys final, HSS Bhour camp defeated HSS Manda by 5-4 points and in Volleyball Under-19 boys final, HSS Sunjwan emerged winner.
The matches were officiated by Jasdev Singh, Hardev, Mulkh Raj, surinder Rajinder, Bodh Raj and Vishal.
Inter-School Tournaments of Akhnoor and Chowki Choura zones in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Wrestling were held under the supervision of ZPEOs Sher Singh and Om Prakash at Govt HSS Akhnoor.
In Kabaddi Under-19 boys final, APS Akhnoor defeated HS Dori Dager by one point.
President Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor, Sham Singh Langeh was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Wrestling were organised by ZPEO Marh, Veena Tikoo and ZPEO Bhalwal, Jasbir Singh at Govt HSS Domana.
In Kho-Kho final, GHSS Gharota defeated GHSS Domana by 1 turn and 3 points, while in Kabaddi final, ghss Marh got better of GHSS Ghou Manhasan by 19 points and in Volleyball final, GHSS Jhiri beat GHSS Marh by (2-0) sets.
