JAMMU, Aug 24: While opposing the three-hour power shut down strike call given by JKGEEA on August 28, the Diploma Engineers and some other Unions of the Power Development Department (PDD) today decided not to participate in the proposed strike.
In a joint meeting of the All J&K Diploma Engineers Association (DEA) led by Sukhdev Singh and J S Rathore; All J&K Electrical Employees Union led by Krishan Singh Jamwal and Deepak Tandan; All J&K Linemen & Workers Union led by Tara Chand, JKCNGEEU led by Parshotam Sharma , JKNGEE Association led by Gurmeet Singh and ITI Diploma Association led by Jasbir Singh, it was unanimously decided not to participate in the strike call given by Electrical Graduate Engineers as they did not take them into confidence before taking such a big decision of power shut down in the entire State. They said that in view of the likely affects of the proposed strike, especially on the essential services and inconvenience to general public, it was unanimously decided not to be the part of strike and work normally in their respective power stations and offices on August 28.
