IDA criticizes JKSDC returning officer for ignoring Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 26: Dr Bhupinder Singh, Secretary of the Indian Dental Association, (IDA) Jammu branch today condemned the returning officer of the JK State Dental Council (JKSDC) for not making any receiving station in Jammu for election ballots to Dental Council of India and State Dental Council.
He said that returning officer of JKSDC is sending the ballot from Srinagar through normal post to the dentists of State, but even 10 days after the dispatch of ballots from Srinagar, many dentist who are residing even in Jammu city have not yet received their ballots.
Singh said that time is very short for the dentists to decide on the contestant and send back their ballots for which the last date is September 9, 2017. He also said that the dentists of Laddakh region are also facing similar issues with JKSDC elections.
Dr Ayush Sharma, convener CDE of IDA Jammu, said that elections to JKSDC are happening for the first time in J&K but the names of more than 1000 registered dentist are missing from this list, which is a matter of concern, and despite request to returning officer of JK State Dental Council these names were not included in the list.
