JAMMU, Aug 28: A meeting of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was held here, today under the leadership of its president Adv. Ravinder Raina in which the stock of prevailing situation in the State was taken.
Addressing the meeting Raina expressed serious concern over the role of both State and Central Governments for not containing the terrorist activities which are going unabated for last so many years. He said it is a matter of concern that Home Minister of India is declaring that normalcy is returning to the Valley while on the ground the security forces are being martyred by the Pan Islamic fundamentalist forces.
He said not only the anti national elements but some of the main stream politicians are also adding fuel to the fire for their personnel interests and the Government at the Centre is acting as the mute spectator to this all.
He said ASKPC is astonished the way the Government issued orders for the employment under PM package as it has not bothered to arrange for their security and safe rehabilitation. Though the appointees are ready to resume their duties at their places of posting but it is prerogative of the Government and the administration to restore confidence among the displaced community as a whole.
Dr T K Bhat general secretary, ASKPC said that the Government has failed to address the problems of the displaced people and has never taken the community into confidence. It is strange though the Government has passed the bill for safety and security of the leftover properties of the displaced people it has not implemented the same in letter and spirit with the result the goons and land mafia have grabbed the migrants property as well as the shrines land.
Others who addressed the meeting included R K Wangnoo, senior vice president, ASKPC, C L Bhat vice president, Veena Gurtoo president Women Wing ASKPC, Ravi Raina youth president , J K Kher and B L Handoo.
