KATRA, Aug 31: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul, Charan Paduka, Katra celebrated its Annual Day by organizing an impressive function at Spiritual Growth Centre, here.
Prof. Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, New Delhi was the Chief Guest on this occasion, while Dr SS Bloeria, Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Council for the Gurukul, presided over the function.
Prof. Pandey lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Dr. Bloeria, Jitendra Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Prof. Vishwamurti Shastri and other dignitaries to mark the commencement of the Annual Day function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Pandey lauded the Shrine Board for establishing the Gurukul and putting in place excellent facilities for imparting quality education in Sanskrit and other subjects for all round personality development of the students pursuing their education in this institution.
Prof. Pandey gave medals and certificates to the meritorious students who have excelled in academics, sports and various other extra-curricular activities.
Earlier, Mr Jitendra presented welcome address and highlighted achievements of Gurukul.
Dr Devendra Rijal, Vice Principal of the Gurukul, presented Annual Report of the Institution.
On this occasion, students of the Gurukul staged an impressive Sanskrit play namely Stuti Priyo Rajawhich, which was highly appreciated by the large audience.
