JAMMU, Sept 1: APS Akhnoor, APS Ratnuchak, JP World School, Jodhamal Public School and Carmel Convent won their respective matches to move into the next round of the ongoing provincial level basketball tournament, being organized by J&K Basketball Association at MA Stadium, here.
Rain played spoil sport in the morning session, but the organizers worked hard to make the synthetic courts ready for the matches as soon as the rain stopped to complete day’s fixtures.
Nine matches were played during the day. In the first match of the day, MIER lost to their rival 17-31, Air Force School defeated Jodhamal Public School 29-08, JP World trounced RoJ Green 26-12, APS Akhnoor outplayed GD Goenka 37-18, SMVD Katra Boys outclassed Banyan International 10-05, APS Ratnuchak lost to their rival 15-25 in girls section while in boys section APS Ratnuchak beat KCIS 33-21.
The matches were officiated by Manoj Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Rajesh Bandral, Vaneet Pangotra, Amanjot Singh, Jaskirat Singh, Rishab Sethi, Abhishek, Kunal Gupta, Rohan Kundaland Kannav Gupta.
The five day tournament will conclude on September 4, 2017.
