Aditi bats for women empowerment; inaugurates Inter District competitions

JAMMU, Sept 7: Senior BJP leader and social activist, Aditi Sharma in the presence of DYSSO, Jammu, Chanchal Kour inaugurated the Divisional Level Inter- District competitions of Jammu Division in an impressive and well attended function at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The disciplines included Judo boys and girls (all age groups), Hupkwondo Under-19 boys and girls, Jeet-Kunido boys and girls, Gymnastic boys and girls and Kick boxing boys and girls (all age groups).
In all, 150 boys/girls drawn from 5 districts of Jammu division namely Kathua, Doda, Reasi, Samba and Jammu are taking part in the competitions.
While addressing a large gathering of young and old sportspersons, she advocated for women empowerment and advised women folk to take part in sports and allied activities and be healthy.
She said, sports and games develop social and moral traits, besides building stamina and inculcating sense of discipline.
She further said that Govt. is committed to empower women in all the spares of life, adding that organizing events like this is a step forward in that direction.
The main objective of these competitions is to select the teams for Jammu Division in these disciplines for the forthcoming Inter Division State level competitions.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu, under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services & Sports, and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports, Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is organizing secretary of the competitions.
In Artistic Gymnastics Under-14 boys, Badal of Kathua secures 8 points, Dhariya of Jammu (7 pts), Manharpreet of Jammu (6.20 pts), Atyash of Jammu (5.80 pts), Gagandeep of Jammu (5.70 pts), Devansh of Samba (4.90 pts), Rajveer Singh of Jammu (4.50 pts), while in Artistic Gymnastic Under-17 boys, Bhushan of Kathua secures (8.10 pts), Vivek of Kathua (8.00 pts), Ashish of Kathua (5.00 pts), Arjun of Kathua (4.20 pts), Dilpreet of Jammu ( 4.20 pts), Manish Deep of Jammu (4.10 pts),  Jatin of Jammu (2.10 pts) and in Artistic Gymnastic Under-19 boys, Karanjot of Jammu secured (9.00 pts), Gourav of Jammu (8.70 pts), Amit of Kathua (8.00 pts), Harman Paul of Jammu (6.10 pts), Manav of Jammu (6.00 pts), Dhruv of Jammu (5.10 pts) and Manish of Kathua (4.00 pts).
In Artistic Gymnastics Under-14 girls, Kashish of Kathua secured (3.00 pts), Pehu of Jammu (2.70 pts), Cathireen of Jammu (2.60 pts), Manchvi of Kathua (2.50 pts), Aprana of Kathua (2.40 pts), Suhani of Jammu (2.30 pts), swastika of Jammu (2.20 pts), while in Artistic Gymnastics Under-17 girls, Sudhipti of Jammu secured (3.00 pts), Nikita of Kathua (2.50 pts), Aakshita of Jammu (2.20 pts), Sonia of Jammu (2.10 pts), Parerna of Kathua (2.00 pts), Sunidhi of Kathua (1.90 pts) and Sania of Kathua (1.80 pts) and in Artistic Gymnastics Under-19 girls, Sheweta of Jammu secured (5.00 pts), Dhwani of Jammu (4.50 pts), Aanimka of Kathua (4.00 pts), Krishika of Kathua (3.20 pts) and Yashpreet of Kathua (3.10 pts)
The officiating panel included Kamal Singh, Seema Mehra, Mayank Jain, besides other officials of the Department.
