JAMMU, Sept 8: Defending champion PG Department lifted the Inter-Collegiate Handball (M) Tournament 2017 title by defeating Govt SPMR College of Commerce with a close margin of (16-14) in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Handball (Men) Tournament 2017-18 organized by the Directorate
of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, SPMR College of Commerce was leading by 1 goal in the 1st half but in the 2nd
half PG Department played extremely well and finally won the match in a contest.
Sourav Pawar, Varun Gupta, Himanshu Atri and Sarthik were the star performers from the winning side, while Ishan and Jasmin also defended well from the SPMR College of Commerce.
Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest on occasion, who awarded the winning trophy to PG Department.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Shafkat Jahangir, Vikas Karlopia, Ravish Vaid, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Gagan Kumar.
The final match was officiated by Karun Magotra, Amit Sharma, Priya Devi, Narinder Singh and Vipin Photra.
