JAMMU, Sept 10: Lions Cricket Club, Dream Cricket Club, Yes We Can Cricket Club (YWCC) and Gopinath Cricket Club defeated their rivals in the ongoing 2nd Pink Ball Cricket Tournament, being played at KC Sports Club ground, here.
In the first match played today, YWCC defeated Surinder Cricket Club by 5 wickets. SCC scored 138 runs in 20 overs, with Suman and Deepak contributing 54 and 21 runs respectively. Rahul took 3 wikets, while Ayush and Akash claimed 2 wickets for YWCC.
In reply, YWCC chased the target in 19.2 overs, with Ayush, Vishu and Rahul scoring 42, 35 and 23 runs to the total respectively. Provin and Rajesh claimed one wicket each. Ayush was declared as man of the match.
In another match, Gopinath Cricket Club defeated Shardha Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 5 runs. Gopinath Club scored 129 runs, while Shardha Club managed to score 124 runs to lose the match by 5 runs. Alok who scored 16 runs and took 3 wickets was adjudged as the man of the match.
In yet another match played on day-1 of the tournament yesterday, Lions Cricket Club thrashed Adarsh Cricket Club by 8 wickets.
Adarsh Cricket Club while batting first bundled out for a paltry total of 79 runs. Former Ranji Trophy player, Rakesh Koul was pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets for Lions Cricket Club. Riding on Sarthak Peshin’s unbeaten 57 and valuable 17 runs by Rakesh Koul, Lions Club chased the target easily in 9.3 overs. Sarthak Peshin was declared as the man of the match.
In the 2nd match played on day-1, Dream Cricket Club outplayed Magnum Cricket Club by a big margin of 68 runs. Batting first, Dream Cricket Club scored a decent total of 174 runs. Chander top scored with 67 runs, while Vishal Kanth contributed 46 runs to the total.
In reply, Magnum collapsed at 116 runs, thus lostthe match by 68 runs. Sanam (32) and Sonu (22) were the main contributors. For Dream Cricket Club, Sunny Bhan and Sahil Dhar took 3 wickets each, while Vicky bagged 2 wickets.
