Manisha Devi of Jammu bags 400 mtrs U-14 girls gold

JAMMU, Nov 4: Manisha Devi of Jammu claimed gold in 400 meters Under-14 girls in the Divisional Level Inter-District Athletic Meet, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Jammu University ground, here.
Sunita Devi of Kathua bagged silver, while Pavneet Kour of Udhampur clinched bronze in this event.
Earlier, Pushpa Sharma, Physical Instructor DIET, Reasi was the chief guest in the inaugural ceremony, who declared the meet open in an impressive function.
125 girls drawn from the districts of Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Ramban and Kishtwar are participating in the event which is being organized under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
Meanwhile, in 400 meters Under-17 girls, Jyoti Devi of Kathua, Nazia Choudhary of Samba and Sunita Devi of Jammu claimed gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
The 100 meter gold in Under-17 and Under-14 girls went to Farida Kouser of Jammu and  Sapna Jamwal of Samba respectively, while Reetika Bhardwaj of Jammu claimed gold in Under-19 girls. Shot put and long jump events were also held during the day.
The meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the organizing secretaryship of Tirath Ram, District Youth Servies & Sports Officer, Jammu.
