SAMBA, Sept 15: On the Spot Music Competition for Children, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in association with District Administration, Samba concluded here at Government Model Higher Secondary for Boys, here.
Dr Devinder Manyal, MLA Samba was the chief guest on the occasion, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was also present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering particularly the students and youth present in the Hall, Dr Devinder Manyal appreciated the participating students of Amateur Group and said that there is a lot of hidden talent here in the Samba District and Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages is doing commendable job in searching this hidden treasure of the area in the form of youth and also providing them the platform to display their talent.
Dr Amn said that it’s a matter of great pleasure that Samba District out numbered in the participation from other districts and 243 students of various Schools and educational institutions of Samba District participated in these three days.
He complimented Bhupinder Singh Jamwal, Choreographer, Anil Tickoo and Bishan Das, Assistant Cultural Officers of Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for their dedication and hard work to organize this On the Spot Music Competition here.
Rekha Sharma from education department and liaison officer conducted the proceedings of the programme.
The adjudicators of today’s competition were VK Samyal, former Station Director and reputed classical singer, SK Kaswalia, prominent musician and artist and Dharmesh Nargotra, eminent singer of the State.
