Punjabi book ‘Lahoo Bhare Pyaley’ released

JAMMU, Sept 16: A literary function was organized today by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha (PLS), Jammu at KL Saigal Hall, Cultural Academy, Jammu to release a Punjabi book titled ‘Lahoo Bhare Pyaley’, based on historical anecdotes of partition of the country during 1947.
Raman Bhalla, former Minister was the chief guest on the occasion. The book is written by late Jeevan Singh Gyani and edited by Pritam Singh Gyani.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, presided over the programme. Brig Harcharan Singh, Sainik Board Jammu, Veer Chaturdev Singh, Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik (president, PLS) and Dr Baljeet Singh Raina (general secretary, PLS) also shared the dais. The function was attended by a large number of intellectuals, writers and senior citizens of Jammu.
In his welcome address, Gajan Singh, son of late Jeevan Singh, threw light on the life and work of Jeevan Singh Gyani, his writings and other aspects of his life. A paper on the life and work of Jeevan Singh and his poetry book released was presented by Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, in the function.
Pritam Singh, while speaking on the occasion, said that Jeevan Singh Gyani’s poetry has incorporated the historical anecdotes with the old traditions of the great people of our nation and made sacrifices. He gave many anecdotes from the history to explain the contents of the poetry of Jeevan Singh Gyani.
In his address, Raman Bhalla said that the paper presented by Sh. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik that explored the facts on the literary aspects of the book. He said that the great people have come to this world as saviors who ultimately sacrificed for the well being of the communities.
In his presidential address, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that literature plays a vital role in projecting the history of times. He added that Pritam Singh Gyani has helped to associate us with our past and history.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Baljeet Singh Raina while Dr Monojit extended the vote of thanks.
