JAMMU, Sept 17: To review the functioning of the coalition Government especially the BJP Ministers, legislators and the various Vice Chairpersons of Corporations and Boards, the BJP Core Group met here, this evening under the chairmanship of Party national general secretary (Org) Ram Lal who reached here early this morning for a two days tour of the State.
The Core Group besides reviewing the security scenario and prevailing political situation in the State also decided that for maintaining a good public liaison, the BJP Ministers besides holding the public darbar in party office once in a week, should also hold the public darbar in Civil Secretariat once in a week.
The Core Group members gave a complete feedback to the visiting national general secretary on the working of the coalition Government in the State.
Sources said Core Group asked the Party Ministers and legislators to be more assertive and stress was laid on expansion of organizational network in the State.
The Core Group was of the opinion that the Party Ministers should keep their views strongly in the Government and be firm on the ideology on which there should be no compromise.
Maintaining that Government will complete its full term in the State, the Core Group opined that the Ministers and Legislators of the Party should be assertive by keeping the sentiments of the workers in mind.
The Core Group stressed that every step should be taken to ensure that the workers should not feel angry as BJP activists are emotional and utmost care should be taken by the Ministers and legislators that their emotions and sentiments are not hurt.
The Core Group meeting besides the BJP State president, Sat Sharma was attended by Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, MP (LS) Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (RS) Shamsher Singh Manhas, Minister of Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, ex party president and MLC Ashok Khajuria, general secretaries, Ashok Kaul, Dr Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and Harinder Gupta.
The Core Group meeting was preceded by the meeting of legislators and VCs of Boards and Corporations run by BJP which were also chaired by Ram Lal.
