JAMMU, Sept 19: Four persons including a woman were arrested today with 20 kg charas in a joint operation by Nagrota police and Special Operation Group (SOG) of J&K police from Nagrota area of city outskirts.
On a specific input, an SOG along with a team of Nagrota police laid a surprised naka at Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota area and intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number MH02MA-6351, which was on its way from Pahalgam (Srinagar) to Jammu. On through checking of the vehicle, about 20 kg of charas of export quality was recovered from the vehicle, which was being taken to Nasik for selling.
All the four persons namely Suriya Aadam Sheikh daughter of Aadam Sheikh, resident of Kalyan (Maharashtra), Abdul Samad (40) son of Samad Sheikh, resident of Bhagur, tehsil and district Nashik in Maharashtra, Rakesh Yadav (24) son of Chander Dev Yadav, resident of Barahpur (Gazipur) and Ashish Yadav (23) son of Amar Nath Yadav, resident of Pahari, Varanasi, travelling in the car, were arrested and charas recovered from their possession seized by the SOG team.
In this regard, a case FIR No 206/2017 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at police station Nagrota and investigations started. The arrest and recovery was made by SOG team and a team of Nagrota police led by SOG SP Jammu, Vinay Sharma.
