J&K’s 8 skaters in Team India

JAMMU, Sept 19: Eight skaters from Jammu and Kashmir have sealed berth in Team India squad for World Roller Games 2017 to be held at Nanjing in China this month.
It is for the first time that eight skaters from Jammu have got the National selectors nod for representing the Indian Inline Hockey team for the World Roller Games.
Around 300 skaters from all over India participated in the selection trials for various events of World Roller Games 2017 at Noida.
After the selection trials at Noida, the training camps of the probable were held at Noida (25 days), Chandigarh (30 days) and again at Chandigarh (25 days).
The selections trials were conducted by the Roller Skating Federation of India, under World class coach William Prandini (Italian).
Eight skaters from J&K rather Jammu included Arjun Gandotra, International player, who has participated in 5 World and 3 Asian Championships; Tarun Gandotra, International player, who has participated in 4 World and 3 Asian Champi-onships; Joshpal Singh, Jasmeet Singh, Sahil Gupta (all three International Players); Dixit Gupta (National Player), Ajit Singh (National Player) and Abhinav Gupta (National Player).
GS  Khurmi, president Jammu and Kashmir Roller Skating Association lauded the efforts of the players for this outstanding achievement.
